There are many great plans in the works for Mattawan by the Mattawan Business Association and we would like to take a moment and share them with you!

Mattawan Citizen of the Year
We are asking for your nomination of an outstanding person who lives within the Mattawan School District.  Your nomination along with all the others we receive will then be reviewed and put up for vote for "Citizen of the Year".  This individual will then be honored at our annual Community Appreciation dinner on September 30th.  State Representative Tonya Schuitmaker will present the honor.  To nominate a citizen of the year you may visit our nomination form at http://www.mattawan.org/nominate

Spring Edition of the Community Guide
We are also working on our Spring edition of the Mattawan Community Guide.  This guide is loaded with community information, map and coupons.  Look for it out in local businesses coming soon!

Golf Outing Fundraiser
The MBA will also be hosting a 4-person golf scramble on Friday, August 27th at Thornapple Creek Golf Course.  This event will be held to raise money for a local foodbank right here in Mattawan.  For more info and how to get in on the fun visit http://www.mattawan.org/golf

Coming in 2011 - plans are in the works for a 5k run/walk/dog walk with a portion of the profits going to the participants choice of either the Mattawan Boosters or the SPCA.  Look for further information coming soon!

MBA Freedom Memorial Scholarship 
The Mattawan Business Association donates a $500 scholarship each year to the MPEF.  If you know of someone who is planning on attending college to major in business they should look into applying for this scholarship.  Information on this scholarship is available through the Mattawan Public Education Foundation.
